Lifelong Passion
Erin Taormino went from up and coming trainer to 2-15 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Reserve Champion in the matter of a few months. But for Erin, it probably doesn’t seem like it happened that fast. Although she loved horses he whole life, Erin never thought she would make her living riding horses. “I didn’t want to make my career because I didn’t want to get burned out on it,” she told Western Horseman magazine. She was a self-described “horse-crazy kid” that spent countless hours on a grey pony since she was a toddler. Today, Erin is the head trainer at Gardiner Quarter Horses in Ashland, Kansas, where she works with her husband, Anthony. He starts the colts, and Erin puts the finishing touches on the reined cow horses.
